I have fitted HSE leather seats in my GS D3. Passenger seat was plug and play and works fine. drivers seat wouldn’t work which I knew. So instead of splicing the wiring to get the switch to pulse. I did what some others have done and got a passenger side seat loom and a LHD seat switch, effectively turning it into a LHD passenger seat which should then be plug and play. So at lunch I fitted passenger seat loom and new switch to drivers seat. Plugged it all in and nothing totally dead. Loom has a relay with it. Have checked the fuse all ok and have 12v at the black plug from the car to the seat? Might try and swap the relays over just to rule that out?
Any ideas?
Need to get it working before going on holiday at the weekend!!
Cheers
Nick

I suppose the simplest things first.
Are the wires in the plug on the car loom positioned the same way on the drivers side as the passengers side? It’s been a few years since I did mine but only did the pulse, but from memory was there something about the earth wire.
I know it’s an awful lot easier with headlights... but try plugging the newly wired drivers seat into the passengers side BUT make sure the airbags wires are definitely the same. If that works try the passengers into the drivers side, might narrow down what’s amiss.
Also are the passengers and drivers seats the same? Same number of motors etc.
Thanks. The Seat has 4 motors but the loom andswitch are for 3. Everything connects fine only one it’s missing is the base tilt which I’m not bothered by. Been told by others it should work. I’ll check the earths as well
Cheers

Hi
Also fitted electric seats in mine and bypassed the memory box
Ref ur loom the drivers is 8 x way and the passenger is 6 x way
Wonder if the loom and switch you’ve got is for a 6 x way
I know when I had trouble I used a multimeter and ensured I had a 12 volt supply at the main connector plug under the seat and earth
Then with the seat base off, as I pressed the switch ensured I had live and earth at each motor
Was a bad earth in the connector plug
Don’t know if that’s any help
Have u got a seat wiring diagram to assist u tracing the circuits
Think the switch part number is YUB500600 , can’t 100% remember though
Hi EREA , done the same as ur good self and was great fun trying to bypass the memory seat module
Thanks. Will look at the earths when I get time. I have a wiring diagram off here for it. The loom is off a stands 6 way RHD passenger seat the switch pack is off a LHD standard 6 way passenger. All wiring colours match diagram. I know the drivers standard loom and switch is an 8 way but I’ve completely removed all that and fitted the 6 way Passanger loom and switch so thought it would work as turning it into a left hand drive passenger seat??? Will try earths and relays.

Hi
Know it can get very frustrating , that’s why I had to spend time going through each motor with a multimeter
Also indeed wonder if all the motors are ok on the newly installed seats / switch pack ???
See what u come up with so at least then ur know if u have voltage going through the switch pack and onto the motors

The fact that everything is dead on the seat is probably good as it hints that one thing is taking everything out. Either on the Positive side or negative side.
Think I’ve fixed it! Just had a fumble under the seat not in the best light and plugged the seat loom direct into the car loom and it worked!! Can only think I managed to get the grey plug upside down or not far enough in when I put it in the main connector. So will have a proper go in the light at lunch tomorrow

Result
They always like to keep us on the edge of our seat
In and all working 👍👍 problem was the small wire in grey connector on the seat loom. It was on the right in the seat loom and on the left in the car! Depin and repinned in correct position all working ok. Full travel checked, no chaffing and seat back together. Might have a break from Disco mods for a short time 😂
