Electric seat switch

I have an issue with the electric passenger seat control switch in that it will allow the seat back to recline but wont come back up to an upright position. The other seat movements work fine. Has anyone else experienced this and any ideas on a fix please?

Thanks Pete . Well that doesn't sound like too bad news. Is it easy to change or a mare?

Hi think they’re just pop off, plug and play, plenty of used on fleabay for £25-£30.

Just found it in the forum tech guides.

I managed to get the whole plastic seat side with the switch from a reputable breakers. Do I need to removed the actual seat to replace this side?

The plastic side is easy to remove, apart from an awkward concealed screw at the front.

Remove the four screws and pull the seatbase clear you can then get to the hidden screw

Hi guys your info was most helpful and I've changed the whole side panel. Seat now working BUT I have warning lights for seatbelt and airbags showing on the dash. Do need to clear these with a plug in diagnostic device? The chime is driving me mad!

Have a check under the seat to make sure the main connectors are fully plugged in, may have knocked them when you were working? The only connection to the panel you removed is for the motor control so won’t be that.

Not the answer you want but to turn the chimes off fasten and unfasten the drivers seat belt 10 times continuously to get rid of the bongs, do the same to switch them on when you have found what the cause is (unplugged under the seat). Put seat max forward and up, examine from rear. Thumbs Up

I love this forum. Thank you. Main connector under driver's seat needed a slight tighten. All warning lights are off. Happy new year to you both. Appreciated the quick responses. Fran
