Electric Windows - Auto shutting

Hi Guys (and Gals) Does anyone know if it is possible to raise the windows from outside the car - usually with the remote handset.
On occasions I jump out of the car and forget to shut one or more of the windows. Only resolution once drivers door has been opened is to put key in ignition and use the door switches.
Posh motors such as Merc's and BMW (sorry to cause offence) allow the driver to press and hold the Lock button on the remote and all windows close automatically.
Have I missed a software cheat? or is it not considered necessary on the super high tech, fully automated, computer controled D3? Confused

Sorry, this is not a feature in the Discovery 3. My Audi S4 allows me to do this by turning/holding the physical key in the door lock (probably for safety reasons). You'll also note only the driver's window has "one touch" up, unlike other vehicles. It seems the Discovery 3 is more about utility than convenience/luxury...

Most of the "quality" European cars have this feature (inc to close the sunroof) and I suspect that the omission probably relates to some perceived safety issue in the USA (after all they are the country where MacDonalds get sued if you scald yourself when trying to drink a coffee while driving Rolling Eyes ). Seriously though, I recall years ago having a Clifford remote alarm installed with this funtion being added to a car with standard non-1 shot windows, and it was done by adding some form of relay into the window circuit for about £50. It should therefore be possible although whether anyone really wants to mess around with the D3's electronics is another matter Wink

Anyone tried programming the LR button in the same style as the tailgate release?
Might work...

Electric Windows

Oh well - I'll resort to leaving a "Post-it" note on the Sat Nav screen to remind me to shut the windows before leaping out. Crying or Very sad

I've just fitted a gizmo to my Mini to auto-close the sunroof and windows when the doors are locked (see the mini2.com forum for some entertaining stories...). I got this from NewMiniStuff. Presumably if you can locate the same two wires in the D3 that I did in the Mini, then the device will work.

To auto close the windows should not be a big problem, but it may require a module. Most alarms have it built in, which means that the Lucas alarm on the D3 will almost certainly have it built in and as the motors are already in, it should be programmable. Can anyone find the thing, but don't publish where it is for obviouse reasons. Usually, it requires the key in ignition and to turn the ignition on and off quickly about 9 times or similar. Don't do it though, it is not quite like the seat. PM me if you find it.
