Electrical advice please

Hi All, its me again with my C1A35-01 reservoir valve general electrical failure. First of all thanks to g-stuart for giving me a couple of good steers. I have been under the front left wheel arch and looked at connector C2293 where pins 7 and 8 provide the power supply for the reservoir valve. All good here with 12volts. However, nothing back at the actual valve which is near the compressor. Should there be 12v there all the time the ignition is on and the car needs to raise ? Is it safe for me to connect a 12v car battery direct to the valve to see what happens ? Neutral As you may have gathered I am a bit short on electrical know how.

Hi

Just double checked for u and it seems ur going from ground on the pressure sensor and power on the solenoid

Enclosed the wiring diagram for u

The pressure sensor as the 5Vdc supply

When I’ve checked circuit u can either remove power from the battery and do a continuity test from one end of the loom to the other or when there’s a connector to ensure power goes into the connector and back out the other side as then it proves if the internal pins are ok

But in this situation ur only have power to the solenoid as it operates

If u have continuity on both sides of the connector check the wiring loom as it goes towards the reservoir valve, might have a break in a wire but u may get a different reading according to which pins ur testing

So undo the connector by the wheel arch and remove from the valve, then using a multimeter to from wire to wire to ensure there all ok

Not wishing to try and teach u how to suck eggs but Plse always be careful if the loom is supplied by the battery and then if u had another 12vdc supply u can blow a fuse or melt the wire , particularly seeing the pressure sensor is just a 5Vdc supply

Hope that helps
