Electrical or mechanical fault ?

Hi, i am having a problem with my 2006 lr discovery 3,
It is driving great, but as soon as i switch it off and lock it, it is dead. I have to use passenger side door with key to get into it, then alarm goes off. As soon as i put the key in the ignition everything is fine again?
Have checked the battery terminals, they were loose but i tightened them and its still same.
I done a soft reset while i had battery out.
I replaced the alternator last year.
Please help as im at my wits end with it,

Seems it was a bad connection, as it didnt do it today after checking and cleaning battery terminals.
Lets hope it stays like this, or does anyone know if you can do something to help with the terrible battery connections on the car, as i had awfull trouble trying to get them tight eneough????
Again thanks galwaygreen for the advice much appreciated
