They look a good idea to have and thinking of maybe making one up using steel braided hoses and fitting permanently, with maybe the feed fitting being in the boot so if the compressor goes I can plug the tire compressor in and keep going2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

I don't think it is that simple with all the software running between all systems in a D3/4. For example if the suspension ecu detects a pressure rise in the main gallery whithout the compresser running, can pack things up. Can lead to lowering suspension, special programs off, gearbox fault and so on and/or engine low power mode.

Thought it could work. Tried it. It didn't work as I thought.
First to get enough air into the struts car had to be jacked. Then also couldn't ensure same amount of pressure in each strut. So car wasnt level, and car knew there was something amiss. It was real slow. A number of bicycles overtook me. Plus all suspension error messages, lights, bongs and bings on dash...
Kept searching till I found:
1. An emergency air suspension kit in Spain. Comes with a module? That tricks the suspension ECU that all is well.
2. Alternative air compressor for discovery 3 & 4 Allan Gilruth on you tube.
Best way I learnt is to keep all the suspension items well looked after...and pray...

i had thought about this myself, just so i am not having to drive several hundred miles on the bump stops.
I had plumbed a train air horn into mine a while back, the tiny little tank is only good for very short blast of a train horn so moved onto a separate compressor to run that.
I don't see why it would not work for an emergency situation, the codes can always be reset if needs be, i carry a diagnostic with me anyways.

I wonder if you could fit the adaptor/s, pump the susp up, then go into the ccf file etc and telll the car it does not have air suspension?

My thoughts were to connect it online with the tank fill pipe. Yes, the car will throw errors if the pump fails but doesnโt it also check for tank pressure? So if tank is full you should get the suspension up?
Car errors will still throw a hissy fit all the way home but the idea is to make it home2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

I saw this a while back and always wondered if it would work , also think the tee would need to be 6mm , plus I think the system is around 17 bar or some 1781 Kpa
Hope it helps and indeed let us know what the system does if u decide to fit one plse, many thks
