Just to understand it, why should I apply the EPB when the car is in P (auto)? The gearbox is locked and I have no troubles with freezing EPB in winter time. I never use the manual parking brake on my FL2 or BMW (both auto).

Not using it can be as bad if not worse than using it as it can become stiff. I use mine on hills especailly at home on the drive so if it would apply itself when placing the gearshift in park and release itself when placing the shift in drive it would be a nice little mod as this is what my wifes evoque does.
Also if leaving in park on a hill and letting 3 tonne rest on the park position it can cause quite a clunk on the gearshift when getting it back into drive so better to take the pressure off with the EBP D4 HSE Lux MY16 Club Waitomo
