How to enable the "Applying the EPB automatically"-feature?
Hello!
I have a 2010 D4 HSE TDV6 that I bought used some years ago. When I got it, I believe the EPB applied itself automatically when I turned the car off. I then have a faint memory that I disabled that function using the procedure described in the Owner's Handbook section called "Applying the EPB Automatically". I would now like to re-enable it, but the Owner's Handbook does not describe how to do that.
Anyone know how to re-enable the "Applying the EPB automatically"-function?

On Manual D3’s and I presume autos as well you can set the handbrake to come on automatically when the key is removed. Then turn off auto as you drive away. So I presume D4s are the same. An IID tool will do the settings.

Thread resurrection…
My wife's Evoque has this function, so was hoping there was a way to activate the auto EPB on the D4.
Any update if this feature can be made to work..?
cheers

I've enabled this on my D3 Auto.
It applies the EPB when you take the key out and releases it when you pull away in drive.
The only downside (that I can see) is that the reverse parking sensors do not activate if you put the car immediately into reverse without manually releasing the EPB.
Edit : enabled it using my IID Tool

That's good to know about working on autos, the only other mentions Ive seen have been for D3 manuals. And they enabled it by holding down the EPB button while turning the ignition.
I haven't got an IID tool, so cant check if that's an option on the D4.

I enabled it on my 16 plate diesel auto using IID and it does work! It is called key-out apply or something similar and in a D4 like mine only applies the EPB if I switch off while not in park.

Thats a shame I would want it to aply the EPB when I place it in park as this is what swmbo’s evoque does and it also removes the EPB when you put it in drive itself. Great little function.D4 HSE Lux MY16 Club Waitomo
