Enable towbar or not in CCF file?
Hi all,
This might sound like an odd question to ask, but should I enable my LR towbar pack I installed or not? The reason I ask is that I don't actually use the towbar for towing, only for a bike rack which has a
large bag attached to the back with a bicycle then attached to this.
I assume that enabling the towbar pack just changes the following...
1. Disables reversing beep - I don't mind the beep noise.. it reminds me the bag is on there!
2. Disables rear fog on car - again I don't see this as an issue.
3. Engine acceleration / gearing change?... the weight is not an issue and I'd rather leave as is.
4. Any stability benefit? Again am not sure if this just happens anyway. You can tell the bag and bike are on the back but it causes no issues.
If I am missing something and I should enable it via the CCF via the Gap tool (which I have) then I will. I just don't see the point for my needs at this moment in time. 13 pin light board works properly etc. Any advice welcome
Thanks
Jonathan

if thats all you are using it for I wouldn't bother, as the changes in the CCF are only picked up when something is plugged into the towbar electrics, it doesnt detect a towbar being fitted.

On my D4 I had to enable it to:
* Disable rear parking sensors when a trailer is attached
* Enable the rear view camera to have trailer hook up mode - it draws a line from the towbar to assist with reversing and then zooms in to the tow bar when you are close
* Stop height changes when changing terrain response mode
There may well be other things it does but disabling the parking sensors was the most important to me!
