Engine check light but no faults? |
|
Hi, so I have an IID bluetooth tool. Currently its not registered to the car and I am awaiting GAP to sort it out as there seems to be some confusion as I was sent an unlock code that didn't work.
Whilst waiting for that though, I had the yellow engine warning on the dash today.
I plugged in the IID tool and read the faults.... NONE.
I thought it would show and clear all faults even if not registered?

Yes it should. Maybe there are "unconfirmed" faults? In the app you can select if you want to see those. I think the default is to see "confirmed" faults. 2016 D4 TDV6 Corris Grey

If you clear all faults, does the light stay on? Or go off and then comes back on when driving? 2016 D4 TDV6 Corris Grey

The fault is there permanently.
I clear all faults shown on other ECUs, which seemed to mostly be speaker cable issues (presumably from where it was unplugged) so that I have no faults showing, but the light is still on.

You'll need the Aussie taxi driver approach then (which is to ignore it) 2016 D4 TDV6 Corris Grey

Send GAP an email about it, maybe there are some codes they can't read. 2016 D4 TDV6 Corris Grey

Well I definitely cant take the "ignore it" approach. And I am talking to GAP about it, but no luck so far.

So it appears that the Bluetooth comms to the phone is playing up. Gap blame my Sony phone.
Using the cruise control switches I identified a throttle position fault, which when cleared has not so far returned.

This is interesting . I've been having similar issues with mine , ran a fault scan and it came back no faults , did this several times with the same result tried it on another d3 and got the same thing , but then it started locking up part way through a fault scan I got onto gap sent them a bug report . Pat said try to reboot my phone which is what I did still the same , then was told to try another phone still got all the issues.
they are now sending ne a new lld tool from Canada . so just waiting for that to arrive

it will be out of warranty I expect . I've used mine quite a bit in the time I've had it and generally plug it in once a month just to clear any fault that might be there maybe I've been using it to much

You should have some faults. I think I have 6 or 7 on mine. Two relate to the steering column. No signal from the electrical adjustment servos ( it's manual adjust). Another is a low voltage on the accelerator. (LR's advice was to ignore as it was still working 100%). The others are minor but the items are 100% working.
