Engine failure in TDV Disco4 cf Disco5 ?

Does the Disco 5 3.0 TDV suffer engine failure like the D4 (up to 2015). Apparently not, so what has changed in that engine?
 2003 D2a Auto TD5 good Landy gone
2015 D4 probably the most amazing yet, why get a RR?

I found this earlier , came up on YouTube recommendations, may be of some interest to those afflicted.
Read the comments for various theories as to its fragility.

In my mind it is totally to do with loading and what it is doing . The D5 is some 20% lighter than a 4 and as was pointed out they dont go in Jags !

Ford used it for a while in the US, too, but with some modifications.

https://www.motorreviewer.com/engine.php?engine_id=145

“ Despite the fact that the engine is new for the F-150, it already has its history while was used in other vehicles, back in the past when Ford owned JLR. The 3.0l Power Stroke engine for a reason has new revised crankshaft and bearings. Ford's 3.0L diesel engines had serious problems with bursting crankshafts and quick wear on crankshaft bearings. There are several possible causes - a design mistake, insufficient oil pump performance, improper oil, untimely and incomplete oil change. The reason is most likely a complex of the above factors. Ford has done some work with related components and only time will tell how successful it is.”

Unladen

D5 HSE = 2,236 KG

D4 HSE = 2,583 KG

-13.5% Whistle Wink

BTW there have been engine failures in the D5 (because engines fail) but very few due to the crankshaft reported on the D5 forums.

My 17MY TD6, as it was badged, went bang at less than 2 year old. Luckily I wasn’t the owner at that point. Moved it on after oil dilution issues.
