The engine management light, amber, has come on to day. It is a 2.7TDV6 engine, there is no loss of power it is not smoking and all the fluid levels are correct. I will lock it up for the night to see if it will reset by its self.
However if it does not, does anyone have any ideas?

Most likely to be an EGR valve fault.

Could be HP fuel pump?

Engine light went out this morning after driving for a mile. Topped up radiator header tank to max last night, it was just above the min mark. Probably what cured the light issue. Thanks RMB for the pointer to levels.

I always try the easy things first, no matter how stupid they seem. .
Just an update been a month now and light never came back on.

Bad news, kinda. 
Light came back on couple of days ago, with loss of power. Car was very slow until it reached 2500 revs. Some black smoke to.
Called out Landrover assist, this morning - Stuck EGR valve. Has to be booked in to be replaced. He done a quick repair jobe by just pluging of valve. I can drive as normal until I get it replaced.
Landrover Assist guy Mark, he is very good by the way said the light is mainly an emissions warning light.
So hope you have better luck, but be forewarned
