Looking at the manual it reads.
Diesel (with DPF) = SAE 5W-30 meeting specification WSS-M2C934-B. If unavailable, 5W-30 meeting specification ACEA C2 may be used.
Castrol EDGE Professional exclusively recommended by Land Rover.

WSS-M2C934-B => 5W/30 ACEA C1 (Castrol Professional EDGE FST Titanium C1)

C2 has SA and P (phosphor) Higher than C1 (not good for the DPF as the C1)

If the C1 isn't available, you can use the C2 but C1 is the best oil for our TDV6

some might say that C2 is the oil you can get easily and relatively cheaply ( even ASDA have it )

C1 is usually stocked on same shelf as rocking horse droppings.

C2 won't harm your engine nor is it likely to affect the DPF much ... but the SENSORS that Ford used so the engine can do it's own health testing are finely tuned for the C1 stuff.

at the end of the day if you have NO oil it is much worse than using the wrong stuff but if you have any choice get C1 or C2.

there's a place in Trafford Park that allegedly does C1 at a good rate ... probably time I sought it out so I have the right "emergency" oil with me.

DSL ... yours is ok for coating the chassis with to stop rust.

I use Shell Helix 5W30 AF-L C1 which meets the Ford spec WSS-M2C934-B in my MY16.
According to my last invoice from the main dealer they use the same oil.
Dealer does the main service and I do an interim change in between.
Normally pay about £25 for 5 litres when on offer at ECP.
 D4 2016 Landmark, Waitomo Grey.
D3 2005 HSE, Bonatti Grey, now sold but still comes back for servicing.
Defender 2002 Td5 Commercial, had a hard life but slowly being restored.
I only work so I can afford to repair my Land Rovers!

NO! C3 isn't good for D4! kook at my post.

too high HTHS means to high viscous friction (mind the rotating bearing issue)

Can I hijack this thread..

Got a 2010 3.0 TDV6 - so I assume its a non DFP, and then assume I should be using Castrol C1 5W-30

Cant see anything on Halfrauds, but they have this?
