I own a 2005 Disco 3 2.7 Tdv6 and are not quiet satisfied with it.
Occasionally I have a different engine sound, like a light ratteling sound ( sound like a car under load in a too high gear) also the idle is shaking ( especially when cold the whole car is shaking)
At arround 1500-2000 rpm I hear the EGR come in and this dissapears at 2000 rpm, but when the "strange sound"appears the EGR sound is much louder and also little loss of power.
When this sound happens the fuelconsumption is also very high ( like 13-14 mpg, normally 25 mpg)
Dealer can't find any faultcodes and says it can't hurt!
Anyone familiar with this problem?
Kind regards,
Charles

Hallo Charles,
Welkom to the site.
I am not that familiar with the TDV6 as I drive a V8 But search for EGR and you probably get thousands off posts. Maybe they are partly stuck or something like that.
You can blank them off without any problems. This might solve the problem when related to the EGR.
It could be something else too like turbo hoses.
