'Engine system fault' message

The above message has started flashing up when I try and kickdown, or accelerate through the gears hard, ususally around 50 mph, engine power is cut for about a second, then returns, the car bleeps at me then flashes up the above message. Never does it If I use command shift.

Will have to book it in to be looked at, was just interested to see If anyone else ever experienced this, and what the outcome was?

Could be a transmission error or a blocked air filter

yes , had the same symptoms in same conditions and it was because both egr inlet pipes from the exhaust manifold were left loose after I blanked them off.Hope its some simple like airfilter as Iain suggests , good luck.

Did you get the fault sorted? Mine has done this a few times today. Had to turn off and re start to clear the fault. Did you find out it was something simple?

Mine has done this ever since I had her. Always happens when it's hot, I'm travelling up hill, and in 6th gear trying to accelerate.

Not having a great LR month Confused Old Freelander died last week with blown head gasket so as I'm off skiing for 3 weeks in the Pyrenees thought I would be prudent and get the Disco serviced ahead of time. Everything fine apparently.

10 miles down the motorway the Engine System Fault pops up and power reduces by 40%. Took it back to the dealer today - sit around drinking coffee - they reset the 'bug in the software' and off I go. 10 miles down the road same thing happens.

Anyone got any suggestions before I take in back for another go?
Cheers
