I use this, a pela 6ltr vac pump. You put the pipe down the dipstick and pump the unit. It takes just under 6 litres out. No need to get underneath and remove guards Thumbs Up

Don't know if it's been mentioned but I use a square of plyboard to support the engine tray just place between the jack and the sump tray , bolts out jack down move out the way , drop oil new plug tray back on .
Suspension to access then all your sevice stuff done from the top oil, air filters
Works for the gearbox tray and the fuel tank
Cheers Thumbs Up

Hi

That looks a great bit of kit as well, I quite like the sealey stuff

Bless u for the kind offer, think ur about an hour away, my big worry if I done the engine oil at ur place if if some oil dropped on the floor and I would feel really bad

Like that because it’s got a 6.5 litres capacity as I want to change my atf , transfer and diff oil

Is this the one plse, as there’s different models and looks as though different size tubing

This comes with 6-7mm tubing

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sealey-TP69P-Va...0005.m1851

Quite like this one comes with 4-6-8mm tubing ,

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sealey-S01169-V....l4275.c10

Thks again Thumbs Up

Yes the first one is the same as mine model number TP69P.
I'm sure there are lots of variations and different models.
The main tube is a perfect fit for the D4 fitted extractor tube and the smaller diameter pipe works well for the D3.
I wouldn't worry about spilling oil on my drive, it has seen plenty over the years. Thumbs Up

Hi baz

Many thks and indeed took me a while to see what the difference was Whistle

Did see some non branded ones on ebay , always preferred buying half decent tools , know they last longer that’s for sure

Don’t forget u can get away with it from SWMBO , I would end up swinging from the nearest tree of dropping oil, or I’ll quickly pass the oil tube to u and claiming I’m the apprentice Whistle

Laughing I get blamed for most things anyway so have a thick skin!
If SWMBO wants her car serviced along with the rest of the family and kids a little oil on the drive is a small price to pay.
Our house can resemble a Halfords service centre at the weekend.
Let me know if you want to pop round for a coffee and an oil change. Thumbs Up

Can't get the kids interested in car maintenance.
They are happy to bring them round for repairs and watch but that's about it.
I try not to get them anything too expensive as a first car as they do tend to collect a few dents!
The Disco has to have the chevrons and a side stripe for work as I work mainly on the high speed road network.
The picture is of the D3 but I drive the D4 now, you certainly wouldn't miss it in a car park.

I normally measure what comes out and if it isn't 100% of the expected volume it is certainly very close.
As I change my oil every 8k I don't think it will make much difference if there is a small amount left in.

Sump plug Drain Valves

I fitted this:

..tho’ like the idea of a suction pump for wet weather mid winter oil changes. My preference is to let the oil run from the bottom.
Is the Sealey model a lot better than the unbranded or lesser known units?
