Ok, bit of an odd one this. The EPB has stopped working, with "parking brake fault" displayed on the dash, I also have the Amber (!) light and flashing (P) light - however, there are no fault logged at all (IID BT
Occasionally it works, (say 1 in 20) but generally not. Today I replaced the EPB module with a know working one, and same fault remains. I also replaced the switch at the begining of the year with a 2nd hand one, and was working fine.
I think I'll try another switch, and see what happens, other than that, it could be wiring - i take it theres nor much to the wiring between the switch and module?
Anyone with other ideas?Si

Have you checked and adjusted the shoes? And made sure you havent got a snapped cable
Good thinking, but I changed the EPB module - cables are fine., and shoes are adjusted (as you have to pratcically remove most of that to remove/refit the EPB Module)
The more I think about it, it seems to be an electrical bug somewhere...Si

i had discounted the fuses, as it has the fault had been intermittent, however I'll check them anyway I guess is possible that the fuses has melted in such a way it "could" be making intermittent contact.. We shall see on Friday when I'm back home Si

I've got the dreaded EPB fault now. It's an automatic so I rarely use it anyway, but MOT is looming

The EPB is a strict part of the MOT so you'll need that fixed else it will fail...2022 BMW i4 M50. Bought Oct 2022. 10,200 miles and counting...
2014 BMW 435d convertible. Bought July 2021. 58,000 miles and counting...

2009 Freelander 2 XS Manual. Bought Sep 2013. SOLD Aug 2021 (already regretted!)
well further to this, and a bif of digging around I think I find the fault... not where I expected. About 3cm back from the Plug for the EPB, one wire outer had split and corroded inside, with another wire with a nic in the outer.
Just need to cut that bit out and that should be it, mind you yesterday when I was looking at the connector in NSR arch, I found the outer CV boot had split. yay.... Si
