Old Grumble Gut How I miss her
Off the juice for the month, Doctor's orders I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Mine has this annoying little clunk noise after engaging the EPB - just at the very end of the process. Anyway, had the motor in for service yesterday and the car made a lier out of me - no noise.
So took it home with my pride in the boot and low and behold it happened again
So had to do some milage last night in the of rain and got home, took out the key and SCREEEEEECH! F k!
Anyway got into it this morning and perfect....
Dealer said I could get it all cleaned up - about 2 hours and commented that if the module goes then ohhhh! very expensive.
So what is this module they talk of? A happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.

The last time my dealer fixed it under warranty, they did advise it wouldn't be covered in future.
I left it with a "we'll see about that"
However I've got myself out of the habit of using it.
But when I did try it in Dec after a dowsing at Tong lake .. it didn't squeal. I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Dunno ,might mean the servo/actuator ?
Stephen if they're charging you for it then as an alternative you could leave it till next Saturday , we could adjust it whilst we're fannying with the other stuff.

CFB.
The car is under warranty, its faulty, they should repair it.
Write to the dealer and LR and tell them they have 10 days to complete the repair under guarantee or you will have it repaired at your cost and sue them for reimbursement. Tell them that you also hold them responsible for any damage, injury or death caused by the safety related fault in the mean time.
Most of the members on here are more technically inclined than the average motorist and have an interest in the technology in the car. This tends to make us more tollerant of these dealer cons like 'it's an adjustment' or 'its a charicteristic' or 'its wear and tear'
However supposing you were say.... a poet... who knew nothing about cars whatsoever. The hand brake doesn't work, the car is faulty, you have a 3 year warranty, you want it repaired. Who cares if it's a 20 hour job or a 5 min one, who cares what the parts cost, its faulty, its their problem, make them repair it or pay. .

You should never argue with idiots because they will just drag you down to their level....then beat you with experience !

You'd have thought LR would have put some effort into a permanent solution by now and issued a recall for all vehicles....

No need to sell any more new cars, just keep charging the thousands on the road for EPB clean and adjust. If one person can get it done under warranty that will set the mark for a lot more.

It's under a 'select' extended warranty which is worth as much as toilet paper I reckon.
They want £550 + vat to do the EPB, Airbag light fault (worn connectors), geometry reset and audio subwoofer fault.
Needless to say I aint paying and am now onto LRCS 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

Only seems to be problematic after an off-road session, which for me is at least once a week. How can LR justify the design FFS 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

It only needs to work once a year, at MOT time.

I changed dealers after my original dealer failed to stop the EPB squeaking - twice. I asked my preferred dealer to take a look and was told LR would not cover the cost of cleaning/adjusting the EPB on cars more than 12 months old.
I rang LRCS and they advised me to take the car back to the original dealer who should do the work for free. They had the car last Friday for the whole day, when I got it back I was told they hadn't been able to make the EPB squeak so they had done............nothing
I was a bit annoyed about this. As I won't be needing the car for a few weeks I have had the dealer come and fetch it and they will keep it until it's sorted.
On the plus side, they did do a very good job of cleaning my car inside and out. Too much intellectual firepower can damage your common sense.
