My car bought in Belgium should be covered by LR assistance although it is registred here in czech.
- I needed them once and czech LR assistance refused
- belgian assistance refuced once they heard my nine digit registration nr.
- phoning to the dealer cleared things out and things the belgian assistance would help me in Czech...
- untill I had to explain them where I was standing: on an unpaved road. Assistance does not cover "off-road". I did not agree because the road was an official road - unpaved but not off-road.
but after all I drove away without any intervention. The car wouldnt rise and was almost lying on the ground. Until I released the hand brake. As if nothing was wrong, it started at once to rise.
My impression though is that the dealer made a mistake.
The car was sold with international guarantee and assistance on the order.
When I recently asked the dealer for a quotation for the FL2, it was clearly mentioned that guarantee would be covered here but not assistance.

Warranty (replacing software) work has been done twice on my car by two different dealers without any problems.
Only they made me pay for cleaning the underbody of the car: "to dirty to work on" which i did not fully like. It's not my fault they had to work on the car.

It seems that at present euro wide assistance is a no no
once you have the car all bail-out
It seems its a Ford policy in europe Doing my best on the red wine lake, as its good for the heart
my other 4+4 is a real tractor but not as much fun on road

Simple explanation to this if you buy a car from a authorised dealer and he get the car from another country (as they do to get round supply delays) and registers it in your country for you (its frist reg) where you pay the full price and taxes then Landrover assistance is a big No No
Because the car was exported to country " A" assistance only if registered there when registered in country "B" no assistance as its not registered in A and not exported to B so NO assistance from Landrover at all They do check chassis numbers to see where exported
Be warned dealers may be international Landrover assistance is not Doing my best on the red wine lake, as its good for the heart
my other 4+4 is a real tractor but not as much fun on road

No problems with my UK supplied D3 with Irish dealers. I did request that they didn't change the details in LR's system though, so they still use its UK registration number when making claims, etc. Decided to do this so that I could be sure that I wouldn't have any problems claiming for warranty work in the UK.
Why you may ask. Well, in Ireland, the warranty expires after 100K KM, or 3 years, whichever comes first, whereas in the UK it's 3 years unlimited mileage, so if it needs warranty work and it goes over 60K miles, I wanted to be sure I could still get it done in the UK. IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
SA - 07 VW Golf TDI - White - Sold!

I'm currently in the process of importing a Discovery (2005 tdv6 HSE) from Germany to Holland. The guy who handles the import and paperwork etc told me that LR Assist will not help me in case of a breakdown, but warranty is for the entire EU. So dutch dealers will have to carry out warranty-work, whether they like it or not. Hope I won't have to use their services for warranty , though. Strange that LR Assist is strictly related to the country of first registration, while warranty goes within the entire EU.
regards,
Thomas

Strange concept - this LRA only for the country of first registration. But if you are on holiday and pssing through, I presume you can get LRA wherever you are in Europe? So why not be "passing through"? As far as I am aware, you do not have to declare that you reside in the country where you break down (do you?). D4 HSE MY2015
