EUROPEAN NAVIGATION MODULE CHANGE TO GET EURO MAPS

I have a 2011 MY LR4 from Middle East.

I just wanted a european map on my HDD based nav system and I am now being told this is a €7,000 upgrade of the entire nav system.

Has anyone else experienced this problem. Does anyone have the necessary modules from a written off LR4 2011? or is anyone moving to Dubai and wanting to do a swap?

Technical help would be appreciated.

Surely it's just a case of buying a new map pack. Wiggs did for Eastern Europe. Thumbs Up

Sounds strange, I'd contact LR Customer Servives in UK for confirmation or at least try a different dealer and see what they say.

I immediately contacted LR Germany and they confirmed the problem and solution. I am absolutely shocked at not being able to add maps to the navigation system just like I can with my Garmin handheld device.

What I find strange is that they talk about it being an entire operating system change and I have already paid for the current operating system with the car. The car is only 9 months old too!

Does anyone know if I could install the 2012MY nav system in my 2011MY car. If I have to pay this money, I might as well get the unit 100% up to date.

I am still in shock and waiting for LR to make contact and say it was all a bad dream!

I can't find any e-mail address for LR customer services in the UK. Does anyone know of an email address for them or for a technical department?

Frankly I would buy a TomTom.

I use my TT in preference to the LR system, which IMHO is bl...dy useless.

Hello,

I have a US LR4 which had the same problem. The former owner had to change the navigation system to the europe version. This was about 3200 €, part no. LR026212, unfortunately also without TMC module (which is about 200€ more and needs two cables to the rear and an antenna).

But some things are not changed: There is no TMC available, the radio only does the US freuencies (only odd numbers after the komma). To get the european frequencies, probably the main cable tree must be changed, the radio module in the rear also.

What frequencies are used in the eastern reagions?

Greetings
