Aaahh but before ordering my D4 I did a little research into MPG'ees etc and I asked some people I know with various 4x4's what they got.
Nissan Navara average: 24mpg
Nissan Die Hard average: 22mpg can get to 14mpg when driven "briskly"
Merc ML 350: 26mpg
Disco 3 (Trevor): 24mpg
Disco 3 (Sarah): 27-28mpg
Freelander 2 Petrol 3.2 i6: 22mpg
Volvo XC90 : She kept forgetting to tell me.
Posche Cayenne: less than 20mpg average (I think he said 16mpg)
For me, if I'm getting around 25-26mpg and I'm in a D4 (when it arrives) then I'm pretty happy with that. At worst I can run it on a 10% mix of bio-diesel which according to Land Rover the D4 is fine on. I saw this diesel kit which looks good value for money should I go down this route or buy it from a bio-diesel brewer direct.

As a side note my Freelander 2 TD4 is conservative in it's mpg estimation. I can't remember the exact figures but it was about 1-1.5mpg less than I was actually getting. If anyone's interested I could dig out the spreadsheet.
Cheerio!

Blimey, it's a bit eerie reading this thread after today's events in NZ, the OP made references to the last Earthquake in the area.
Hope all is well over there 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto
