expansion tank replaced, warning light still on!!
Hi All, hope you can help,
I have an issue with the temperature warning light. It came on saying the usual low coolant on the dash info. The coolant level was fine, after flickering on now and again it became permanent but the dash info bit went away, coolant level still fine. I checked on here and it recommended replacing the whole expansion tank due to the float problems, so i did this - but the light still comes on (no 'low coolant' warning on the dash info panel though)
I tested the plug on the expansion tank, if I unplug it - warning light on, dash info says low coolant, If I short the contacts - warning light on, dash info says nothing, if I plug it back in to the expansion tank, warning light on, dash info says nothing. Temperature is low throughout.
My question is - why is the warning light on? does it come on for anything other than low coolant when the temperature is low?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts
Matt

Which warning light and colour are you talking about?
