As someone who had a D2 in the UK and paid every year for extended warranty direct from Land Rover in the UK at the time (they only renewed annually), all i would say is read the small print on offer from LR. Many things start to fall into wear and tear rather than "failure" Do not sign up blindly, read what is actually covered. another Pommie from the darkside

I tripped over this one from RACV last year when I was doing some research on extended wty. My dealer had offered ext wty at around $2200 (2 years) back in Apr'06 when I first ordered the car (I think it was Alianz). I left it for a time as I figured I would take care of it later - must get around to it soon before it gets to long in the tooth:roll: .

Hi All,
I would be very surprise if LRA offer extended warrantly with their track record in reliability of their product. However, I would be interested to find out beside Allianz is there other insurance company out there that does the same. Did anyone have the chance to shop around?

Vic
I rang RACV. What a quality lot these CU S are.
"I can't do anything for you now" said the first call centre person. "I will get one of our specialist team members to call you back within 24 hours. Now what are your phone numbers and when would you like to be called?"
Information supplied and expecting call at 10am on mobile. Well 29 hours after first contact, on the mobile which I said not to ring after a certain time but they did I was told by a 2nd call centre girl "Oh I'm sorry. We don't do Land Rovers of any sort for extended warranty"
"Why" I asked.
"Because they are Land Rovers and just like they are" she retorted.
"I beg Your pardon. Could You explain better? In lay man's terms not insurance talk."
"Well they break down all the time and are very expensive to fix. We are not prepared to take the risk" She replied.
"Hmmm. Thank You for Your time & returning My call even though it's on the wrong number and about 6 hours late."
RACV is underwritten by Swann Insurance, in the case of extended warranties.
So We better call "someone who cares" and not the lot that started this advertising slogan because they don't
fu 'n care. Did you think I would leave you crying,

I had a mental picture of some person at the RACV with eyes bulging, face going blue/red and My hands around their throat.
I want to drop My Total Care (sim to LRAssist) but The Leader of the Opposition/ Treasurer wont let Me as it covers Her car as well. Did you think I would leave you crying,

The RACV webmaster is a bit of a muppet as well. The link for the policy doc is to: http://10.36.0.25/wps/wcm/resources/file/e...mation.pdf
A 10.... address is not accessible from the Internet and can only be reached from within the RACV. I bet if I tell them it's broken someone inside the RACV will click it and find it works for them and not fix it.

I decided to go with extended warranty after the usual "happenings" with my previous Disco's. It was offered along with the usual "paint protection, interior protection, etc. etc. The extra 3 years wer e $1980 and with Swann Insurance. I must mention that I refused Ford finance and went with BMW so that might be that it is with Swann. 2013 D4, E-diff, Vision pack
