It never ceases to amaze me that when individuals make a statement like 'my car cost xyz ....and I expect it to work' and yet if they were buying a newly built house, costing enormous sums, they accept the process of snagging, to make poor workmanship right, even though by comparison the complexities of the two examples are poles apart.
I have to disagree with you there DG. If I pay 5 bucks I expect 5bucks worth, but having said that look at NASA's budget and occasionally things go wrong. I also believe that as usual Land Rover are way ahead of the game and on the next generation of vehicles from other manufacturers you will see Landy technology

Don't get me wrong CW...so do I .....but in reality, life is not generally like that and it all boils down to the individuals acceptance level of what can go wrong with products and services and should fault materialise, how long it would take to fix or be replaced.
In my experience of building contracts the process of snagging after completion is thoroughly routine ...so this is an acceptance, from the outset, that things won't be right.... ...and these have been multi-million £ builds.
I just thought it interesting that some peeps (and I'm not suggesting you Oliver) appear to accept it in one scenario but not the other 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Quarantine notice Q1706V3 issued 16th June 2006
Discovery 3 / LR3 6A393500 to 6A397268
RRsport models 6A959240 to 6A963083
*note this affects diesel vehicles only*
is this the reason of the motors being delayed. It just our D3 that we collect this weekend falls just within this vin number range. Should I say to the dealer. F&M

Hi Superman,
The dealer probably won't tell you too much but it appears that the cars only leave the factory once they have been fixed. You might want to just check that your car didn't leave the factory before 16th June otherwise it will be subject to a dealer fix for the problem.

Superman,
the quarantine notice is issued to dealers for them to assess vehicles within the VIN range and effect remedial repairs as necassary. You shouldn't have any problems (or worries) with collecting your Disco3.
If you are concerned, you could always ring them prior to collection and ask them to confirm that the vehicle has been checked against the quarantine number
