Factory reverse camera upgrades
Hi All, new to the forum and land rovers in general !
I’ve recently bought a 2010 D4 HSE and after coming from a newer car I’ve noticed the rear camera isn’t the best quality, I have done some searching but can’t seem to find anything.
Question being is there a “bolt on” better quality version to be had ? That’s not blurry and near on impossible to see when a street light is near.
Cheers

That’s odd my camera isn’t sharp at all. I’ll try and get some pics on later to compare.
Perhaps it’s only an issue with the camera itself. Because if they were normally this bad there would be tons of aftermarket alternatives.

My camera has always been good. Obviously have to clean it off from time to time.
Wonder if later models had an upgraded camera?
Perhaps the lens/ lens cover is scratched or damaged?Gary

Fair bit on the forum on this topic...
Some earlier years had better cameras and latter ones not so.
Seems a little hit and miss.
I'm generally happy with what I have, looked at upgrading but after reading around on here canned the idea...Jim

^As above.
The camera quality was variable on all the D4’s I owned and the ones I was loaned. I had one, can’t remember which now, that was awful. My last 2016 D4 had a good one.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Just sorted that it’s a D4 2010 HSE
It Seems that peoples camera experiences vary. But end of the day it’s not a deal breaker I love the car and there’s no doubt I’ll have other things to focus on soon from what I read
Cheers all

Dutchruder: there are plenty of rear cameras available on Eblag for around £12 that are very good direct replacements. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Mine's a 2010 model and the camera is fine. Obviously this weather it needs the odd rub over, but don't we all?

Interesting I don’t suppose you know which or if it’s plug and play ?
I’ve had good search both on here and Google but all the cameras that come up seem to be for cars that didn’t have cameras as standard (like and aftermarket bolt on)
Thanks

From reading posts on here before my understanding of facelift (2014 onwards) is:
If you just have a reversing camera (GS models?), the picture is good.
If you have the surround cameras, the picture is dreadful.
I have the latter on my D4 and the picture on my mate's 07 Nissan Pathfinder was much better than the LR junk.Discovery 4 HSE - Aintree Green

They are all plug and play, I have fitted 3 or 4 all from different suppliers and they have been excellent, don’t be deceived by the price, take about 20 days max to come depending on what day you order and they have gone up slightly but what hasn’t. Sunday orders for some reason seems shortest. Here is an example:
