Fantastic Mpg since enhancement

I thought that i would share the fact that since the Enhancement nearly 4 weeks ago, our D3 is showing 26-28 mpg on everyday town type driving.
This is an improvement from the 19-22 that we were getting from exactly the same driving style before the enhancement.

Im certainly not complaining. In fact the only down side was that when we drove up to the Lakes a couple of weeks ago and i filled up near to Penrith, the new range was showing as 500 miles. I didnt check the mpg but I can only asume that we were getting in excess of 30 mpg as it used to show a range of around 430.

One very pleased owner and thankful to the upgrade (whatever they did)

Seeing as I'm only getting 21-22 mpg I'm going to go for the enhancement asap. Can you just ring up and ask for it, or should I book it in for being heavy on fuel and bad pick-up in 1st gear?

Just request it... all dealers should be running through their customers and booking them in.

Jump the Q and get the beats done... engine re-map is ace. Well it was on mine.

Also she handles better too, firmer round corners and stays flatter.

27mpg isn't so bad depending on road types, driving style and how much kit is on and in the vehicle

empty vehicle, 1 dealer engineer 1 LR guy motorway and cruise control. Confused apparently meant to be 'normal' and 'as expected' ...... i cant imagine they were driving it hard given they were trying to prove it can achieve better than I get.

reset mpg and did 30 miles total.

It may seem minor issue to some, but @ about 15% less fuel efficiency its the equivalent of paying 81p per litre for my deisel.......remember those days? Laughing

30 miles probably isn't enough to give a stable reading unless it was a constant speed for the whole 30 miles, was that 30 miles on the motorway or 30 miles including getting to the motorway and back? What was the average motorway speed:?

I'm not saying yours hasn't got a problem, just trying to establish what leads you to think there may be one. Get an oil, oil filter and air filter change and then go and do 50 miles at about 45-50mph, that's almost guaranteed to give you a good mpg figure!

The other thing to consider is although it's reset it will still base it's inital readings on the previous figures to a certain extent. The only way to get it to start from a completely 'blank slate' is to disconnect the battery. Bit bizzare but that's the way it is, I just use it as a guideline and as long as it's running well and I'm getting reasonable miles per tank I'm happy

fuel ecomomy on mine has improved but recently the performance seemed to change (improved performance but worse economy) probably due to me taking advantage of changed economy. had steering wheel controls for radio fitted and they probably played with the software.

Sorry caveD3, just filled at 124.9 cents per litre (don't know what that is in foreign currency) but just gotta love living in Queensland (at least until the 8 cents a litre levy is removed).

BTW, the fuel consumption (for mainly city driving) has gone up to 11.34 l/100 k (24.91 mpg) but I am still happy with the results of the enhancement.
