Faultmate FCR >> Faults found !!! |
|
Hi everybody,
Happy new year everyone...
I recently bought a D3 TDV6 auto 2004 , and short after the Faultmate FCR (Blackbox solutions, thanks BBS Spy) which works so well that it founds fault codes under "engine management" :
P0408 EGR sensor B circuit high
P02A2 Cyl 3 balance fuel trim at max limit
P121A cylinder balance injector restricted.
And the last one
P0494 fan speed low.
The only visible effect I have is : when I am on the highway at a stabilized speed (+/- 110km/h) in a light hill, the engine is oscilating 200 rpm.
My question is : from your experience, I will probably need to shoot the EGR, and will I have to replace an injector but which one.
thanks for your help.
Edouard

Kinda new to my faultmate , but were these tested or non-tested errors . I tend to ignore non-tested

I was told that the ECU can only show a single injector fault at once, so although it says cylinder 3 you may change that and find another one is also faulty.
Seems an odd system, but that's what I was told when they fixed mine.

Unnecessary quote removed
I had same symptoms, on light hills, felt like engine was revving up and down by approx 200rpm, was eventually traced to auto box, double flush of the gearbox sorted the problem out (maybe your isnt auto!!!) hope this helps, cheers iain

Personally I'd clear the codes and recheck next week. I had a turbo low boost fault showing when I was at the LROI show in September and Wiggs cleared it. Touch wood, fault has not appeared again.
