| Faulty DPF- ?software glitch |

Proud owner one month, 1300 miles, mostly longish runs. Now back at dealer with dash codes for "service" and "DPF full". Didn't know it had one but now see "freebie" on first cars - feel a bit like I'm a test guineapig. Awaiting land rover techs arriving tomorrow with their laptops - think it is a software problem.
Experienced land rover assistance - very good - evening call - car recovered by AA and hire replacement (albeit a D3 HSE) on drive by 10am next day.

DPF need to get very hot to get cleaned. Jag had problems with theirs.

Hi
I think the DPF will be blocked due to the driving style, for the DPF to be regened itneeds to be driven in a certain way at a certain engine rpm to allow the soot to burn off in the filter,
there will be a section in the owners handook explaining this.
Also the sales person where the veh was purchased from should have explained the DPF to you and what you need to do regarding it.

Did read during / after the event. However the car is not an "urban" vehicle and gets a steady 20 minute dual carriage way 70mph "burn" six times a week and using shell fuel. It shouldn't be "blocked".

Turns out it was a faulty actuator on turbo - calibration wrong so sensors didn't like it. DPF was fine.

The DPF is the device that looks like a muffler and is located between the catalyic converter and the big main muffler.

I had the same issue on a new Citreon C8 I had. That said DPF blocked, took Citreon 6 weeks to sort  and turned out to be a faulty turbo unit. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange
