FBH pump issue?
Hi. Am after a bit of advise diagnosing the problem with the FBH. After clearing the faults, (No start, code 02h. Heating interlock, code 07h. Metering pump interlock 88h) My heater starts up, has a bit of smoke and then shuts down.
Thinking there might be a pump fault, I pulled off the pipe from the FBH and ran a prime and then a pump test via the diags. I can hear the pump clicking away.. Question is, how much fuel should come out of the pipe? Mine seems to produce enough small drips that might fill a teaspoon in 60 seconds.

Hi. Currently 3/4 tank. on the gauge.

that's ok I had an issue last year and found out the tanks needs to be at least a 1/4 full for it to work have you tested the fbh with your iid ??

Hi, I have been using the Webasto WTT diagnostic software via the laptop to run the tests.

Don't know about the Webasto WTT diagnostic software but use my iid to run it , think I re primed it at the same time seems ok now . I'm sure some one with a bit more knowledge will be along soon

Driven by WTT software at 7Hz frequency the pump should deliver 40ml in 180 seconds.

Brilliant. I will try that. BTW do you know if it should squirt from the pipe to the FBH or slowly drip?

Given it 8 teaspoons in 3 minutes it is a drip feed 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Hi Martin.
Have just nipped out to run the pump test 7Hz 180 secs. Produced exactly 2 x teaspoons worth so deducing FBH is starving of fuel. Time for a new pump I guess, unless you know of anything else to check first.

Remove the feed pipe from the tank to the pump and blow it out (from pump end into tank).
Remove the pipe from the pump outlet and the FBH and blow down from the FBH end.
This will clear any blockages. Often the tank to pump one blocks and restricts the supply.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

I will give that a go before ordering a pump.
When you say blow down the pipe to the tank, I was thinking about using my workshop air line.
Would that be ok?
I am not familiar with the fuel pipe plumbing of the discovery and would be concerned about introducing air to the engine fuel supply / filter, or bug**ring something else up.

Yes use the airline. The FBH supply is independent of the engine fuel supply 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
