FBH questions - very nearly there.......
So far I have got the FBH heater cleaned up and controllable via the iiD tool.
it will 'prime' and 'test run' successfully - so that's a result.
I've now wired in the Altox WBUS-5 GPS kit I bought from Beanie.
All wired in ok and I can fire up the FBH via text and the fans start up, although not particularly warm they certainly aren't blowing out cold air - so that proves it's communicating as it should.
There was plenty of smoke when first fired up, so I presume that will calm down once it's had a fair few cycles?
but.....
I must be missing something I think, like a simple setting.
I get a 'this device ID is not in the system' message when I try and register via the app.
I can't get any diagnostics via the app, getting the same message
and I don't get any weather data showing.
What am I doing wrong? what have a missed?
I'm also getting a few Webasto error codes:
82,24
W7,3,6
(I've got 1/4 of a tank of fuel)
Many thanks in advance formerly Disco3Ben

"I'm also getting a few Webasto error codes:
82,24
W7,3,6 "
researching those codes:
84 Operating voltage too low 1) Check with a simple formula: warm-up time longer than the driving time? 2) Check the power supply to the onboard network of the car
hadn't driven the car today, but voltage showed 13v on the iiD
24 Car is almost out of fuel
- it had 1/4 tank, so I've filled up.
03 Flame failure
06 Heating unit overheated
07 Heating unit interlocked
I'm presuming these are the W code numbers referred to in this link:
https://altox.ru/en/docs/webasto-code/
not sure how to get passed these errors...... any solutions most welcome please!formerly Disco3Ben

The device not recognised usually means the SIM card doesn’t have data on it, or you’ve not set the data network setting on the Altox.
Have you put the sim into a proper phone to make sure it’s registered properly before putting it in the Altox?Bodsys Brake Bible

I just topped up a new gif gaff sim with £10 and put that in.
Didn't stick it in a phone.
I'll check in the morning. Thanks for the suggestion 👍formerly Disco3Ben

Couldn't check the sim as we've only got iPhones which must be locked - so now need to find an old school phone somewhere!
Going to try and fire up a few times tomorrow to see if that helps kick start things....formerly Disco3Ben

got another new SIM as I think I killed the other one trying to get it back out of an old iPhone!
I don't seem to feel the SIM card clicking into place though - is it supposed to spring back out again when trying to remove it?
back to basics here - can someone please tell me which way round the SIM card should go in??!!!!
I can't get any communication at all this time, although I can still run the FBH via the iiD tool so I'm still hopeful I can get this to work eventually!formerly Disco3Ben

Good to speak earlier Beanie, thanks for your time.
I thought i'd have another go at fitting the SIM - but this time detached the Altox unit and took it inside rather than feckarsing around under the dashboard!
and BINGO! got the SIM to locate properly - I know it has worked as the car has just sent me 11 text messages in response to my asking for STATUS updates while trying different ideas over the last few days!
but I still get the 'This device ID is not in the system' when I try and Register. Also don't get the weather option, or the 'Diagnostics of Heater shows Data Not Available.
I get an 02 error code back:
02 No start 1) The reason for the air intake pipe or exhaust gases. 2) The reason for the fuel system. 3) Check the pump dispenser. 4) Check the electrical system pin filament.
which is odd as I can prime and run the FBH via the iiD tool so not sure where to go next with that.....formerly Disco3Ben

Progress.....!
After continued support from Beanie last night I managed to register the unit.
Found the Altox password in the junk folder on the laptop this morning, now have weather and navigation
So defo moving in the right direction.
I’ll try getting the FBH unit to fired up when back from work later. formerly Disco3Ben

thanks - I've just read through his guide to servicing the FBH.
I've done that once already, but I think I'll do it again now I understand the internal construction better and look for cracks or other issues. I am tempted to go for the new glow plug and other bits but will wait to see what I find insideformerly Disco3Ben
