Hi all
I have noticed that this appears to be a good mod for the D3 (only had mine a few weeks now) and seeing as the colder weather is nearly hear, I thought I would look into maybe getting this sorted.
I have done the searches and found quite lot on it, albeit dating back a while. Based on up to date (just in case things have changed over the months), what do I need to buy to get this operating via text???
Thanks again in advance - a great site
Les

I got mine done by a young wippersnapper called 10forcash. Drop him a pm on this site or mail him on [email protected] - quicker if you mail him
Does a tidy job and its a great mod.
If you fancy the challenge of doing it yourself there should be some instructions on here somewhere - try the search function above.

Thanks tanters
I have sent Iain an email, just wondered what is the current hardware for this mod - if I do myself.

He's hidden the workings behind the panel in the roof of the car so difficult for me to tell you whats required.
I dont need to text the car, I just ring it - it dials once and cuts off and the FBH just starts off. That way you're not paying for texts and calls
Wait on Iain - if he doesnt come back to you soon just put up a thread saying

instructions here http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic16361.html
the GSM modules allow two outputs, so you can not only control the FBH by text but also wire it up so that a text can be sent to switch on the heated front windscreen (best to have an aux battery for this one though).
TFC can do the lot for you Duncan

Sounds perfect - I absolutely hate scraping ice off the windscreen as I never remember to wear gloves so end up with numb hands - not great for driving!
I'll add it to the list of things we'll get done when we find a D3 to buy... 8)

Does this also run the heater fans inside the car to warm it up, or does it just heat up the engine coolant so that its not a totally cold start?
