Alarm upgrade

Has anyone fitted an after market alarm to their D4? I'm looking to add some further protection after a spate of thefts of vehicles and parts (including my headlights and grill) in my area recently. Any recommendations?

You could alarm the grille but it would only trigger as the grille was removed, but it ought to protect the lights.

Just wire something in series with the bonnet latch switch.

I've got a microwave sensor that I'm going to try and loop into the alarm. Should be able to trigger when someone gets very close to the car but before windows are smashed but needs tweaking so it's not going off for folk simply walking past on the pavement.

Headlights have been done a fair bit recently on here, general consensus as I read it is Ryan Wildings headlamp anti theft brackets. The grille seems trickier to me. I am interested in protecting that now that I have lazer lights fitted within it and it is far too easy to unclip and walk away with. I am going to try some self taping torx screws to secure the grille to parts of the front bodywork.

I have toyed with the idea of fitting this somewhere and attaching it to bonnet so when armed if the bonnet is lifted it sounds. Cheap and cheerful but haven't quite worked out how but will soon. For a cheap self contained alarm it does what it says on the tin very well... It is VERY loud..

Let me know what you come up with...

A local installer who was recommended to me has fitted an AUTOWATCH system with an added shock/warn away sensor at the front, it arms/disarms with the original LR key fob and I have disabled keyless entry. All seems well up to now with no problems or false alarms.
Headlamp anti theft brackets, couple of screws securing the front grill, anti tamper screws with covers for the rear lights and a disklok all fitted. Next thing will probably be some sort of tracking system, anyone had experience with the ones available on ebay for £50/60?

I have fitted a simple immobiliser using a hidden switch, that leads the car into thinking there are several safety issues and therefore won't allow the starter to operate.

Once the car is running, the switch has no effect, meaning there are no concerns should something go wrong with the switch or wiring.

It won't stop the theft of parts from the car, but does mean it will be where I leave it when I return, unless of course it is lifted, but then if they want it that bad.......
