Just updated the software on my IIDTool and wanted to update the software on the car. First I did the Instrument panel for the clock display, worked great.
I didn't bother with the suspension as that was just done recently at the dealers.
But when I went to do the Body Control, it failed. I had followed the instructions. Now the car is basically dead, nothing responds to anything. Can't start, can't put up windows, can't lock. radio won't go on, nav screen is off, etc...
Now I'm not sure what the next step should be, if there is anything I can do at home.

Sounds like you have just made yourself a 3 tonne brick!
If you followed the process accurately then i'd suggest you contact Gap Diagnostic for further advise, chances are you are going to need to get it into dealer to have it reflashed!
As with all diagnostic tools and ECU flashing, they are very capable of "bricking" the car!
Most common causes of this are low battery during flashing causes flash being written to fail and data loss of specific or all ECU's!
When flashing its always adviseable to have a heavy duty charger with a supply mode connected to the battery to maintain charge levels.
On your IIDTool you should have a factory backup from when it were 1st plugged into the car,you could try to restore from this but i'm afraid it might be too late for that
Good luck, hope you get it sorted.

give them a call, they're in Ontario. They will most likely sort it out. IMHO (being a Beta tester), IIDTool is pretty straight forward and foolproof. And it does check the voltage before flashing. And the tool does store the original file as part of the initial activation process. But, call them.RLD Sump Guard

Down load the instruction manual from Gaps website there is a chapter in it telling you the procedure to make a recovery if this happens, all is not lost. Good luck and please keep us informed.
Did you have a supplementary power source connected or was you relying on the battery, very interested to know as I am about to attempt it.It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

When you flash any ecus with firmware, the current firmware gets erased first so there will be room for the new firmware to stored. If there is any fault on the canbus. The flashing can fail. If the ecu has any issues, might it be smal or large issue communicating, the flash prosses fails and a dead ecu with no working firmware is bound to happen. But if you do a hard reset of the vehicle and try flashing the ecu agaip

I believe LR's own SDD software mandates the connection of a battery "maintainer" during software updates as some of them can take up to 30 minutes and with lights on etc the car battery may not make it even if the voltage is okay before the flash starts...

Good luck with this. Let us know how you get on. Just about to install my new AMK compressor & update the suspension ECU.
I got everything all sorted out thanks to the great Customer Service at GAP. I just got a new firmware that fixed the problem, uploaded that to the car and all is fine now.
It seems that even with a failed flash, the vehicle still runs some code that allows it to accept new data and write over the corrupted data. I'm not sure exactly what happened with mine, but it seems the problem was fixed on GAP's end anyway, so their customers shouldn't run into any problems.
I had to leave the car overnight with the window down. Just hoping there was no rain. When I got the new firmware on the IID Tool, it was just spitting outside. It started to actually rain as I was reflashing the ECU, and turned into a proper downpour about 2 minutes after it was done and the windows were up.

Very reassuring I take it body control includes 3 flash indicators, does they now work?It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Where do you get the new ECU Firmware data, and how do I find out if any upgrades are available for my D3?
