Have just found a solution to the new floor fixings.
Essentially, you can removed the floor fittings without breaking them...you just need to know how. They are locked in place, but a small screwdriver perfectly placed will get them to release...Have a look at this;

You can then install the older D4 mats with their fixing screws as per normal.

Well....seeing as we want to move away from mats...which I have to say I am rather partial to, in line with this post I wanted to share my joy at my new Discovery....
Some facts for you:
It's done 134 Miles, of which the first 100 was in the delivery and has been in my possession for just over a week.
It's black
It looks pretty in a boxy kinda way
and it's now in the garage....
fixing
- dead rear windows
- reversing camera intermittent
- Rear PDC coming on in Drive when I'm in traffic (even though I've gone faster than 10mph preceding this moment)
- Airbag "off" light coming on when person sits in passenger seat
- Airbag "off" light going off when it feels like it
- Wing mirrors forgetting their memory position
- Wipers working intermittently when in Auto, not relating what so ever to amount of water on screen, no matter if they are set to max or not.
but apart form that....
So...question to everyone...Should I send it back and ask for another one??? Is this car going to plague me with electrical issues for the rest of it's life???
Finally, coming back to mats - they seem to work....so that's good and apart from the change of fixings between 2012 model and 2013 model, the mud and dog hair seems to collect nicely on them.
