Doleawg, why don't you get a set of MTR's or Pirrelli ATR's for your 19" rims and run them throughout the year?...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

I'll look into these. Embarassingly I had to crash the Disco in snow last week. Near our house is a very steep and narrow hill. Went down it in snow on wranglers and they were useless. Had to turn the car into a wall to stop it, was on snow setting, brakes on etc.. not a dickie bird out of the tyres. I had 3 kids in the back and there was a car at the bottom facing up at me wiht 2 cars parked behind it. Had to take a spilt second decison and turned it into a wall. New to Discos and maybe hill descent should have been on but the tyres couldn't handle the snow. Car needs new front bumper, parking sensors blah, blah , not sure of total bill but over £1,000 hence looking for snow tyres next winter.
Stupid question what does MTR stand for? and what are these tyres like on motorways. I am told they are very noisy compared to standard tyres?

Not very noisy TBH, my raised air intake and Expo rack drown that noise out though.
Goodyear MTR I was informed are a great all rounder, as you can see the size of the Block will be better in snow, but we still have to be careful

I cant get on with my MTRs...to noisy for my liking now the wagon is pretty much for road use and doesnt handle well at all, even with the tyres at correct pressure.
Sounds like all the wheel bearings have gone...looks good but i dont care about that anymore.
Thinking about putting it back to tarmac warrior spec so soon they will be gone as well as all the other add ons on the vehicle.
I just wish AT2s were available for 19s.....best all rounder for me "you cannot teach stupid people to do clever things"
