Fitting 3rd party handsfree kit

I have a very simple Nokia BT car kit which came out of my D2 and I would like to install in my D3. Not really bothered if it mute's the radio as it used to annoy me when it rang or received a text in the middle of a good song on the radio Razz

Having had a quick look under the dash, and what with it being new & shiny - I couldn't see anywhere obvious to take a perm +12, Ign +12 and a negative feed from.

Anyone done this yet, or anyone recommend a good fitter who won't Censored up my pride and joy?

I think a pm to Woodman438 may help you a great deal.

Tucker, if you find the answer to your question I would be grateful if you could post it here. I too am looking for a simple hands free fitting for the D3 having got fed up with using a little wired ear piece for the last 12 months (but not wanting to pay silly money for fancy set ups). I recall this topic was covered much earlier this year and some photos were posted of fittings, but afraid I can no longer find these.

Hi, Likewise trying to sort hands free. Halfords Prowave is an excellent system. Power can be got from above the pedals, taking this panel off. Base radio has X type Jag connections and I'm waiting for a convertor to ISO to arrive. Will keep you updated.

Question How does the panel come off?

It's the panel above your feet. The auto electrician who fitted my less than reliable bluetooth set up had this off and tapped the power here. I think that it just unscrewed.I plan to remove the BT set up and do Prowave myself.

Here you go Tucker, I did this a while ago and it still works fine. I did not tap into a power source, I used an adaptor into the aux power socket next to the radio, and hardwired this into the phone 'black box'

I am waiting for an adaptor to become available for the H&K audio to allow diy phone mute and in-car speaker output.

The mounting bracket is from www.dashmount.co.uk

Hi, I've placed photos of the radio connectors in my gallery. Sadly the lead I had, a Ford spec FLR02 wasn't correct. I've still to get the Jaguar 02 ISOleads.
