Hi Glynne,

I fitted a RAI the other day on my D3....fitment is straightforward but tricky if you don't have the correct riv-nut tool or you haven't done without one before.

I used some spare nuts + bolts and a few spanners to compress them and it worked ok, but is slightly unnerving.

Don't forget that you need a 9.5mm drill bit for the riv-nuts - not a 7mm bit as per the LR instructions. You'll also need a 16mm drill bit for the A-trim pillar or just use the 9.5mm one and waggle it around a lot.

Good luck Thumbs Up

Nice for some useful information, Thankyou Thumbs Up

I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

thats cos all the water leaks INTO the car and lowers the river water level. Wink

Glynne, fitting the ladder is easy :

remove the interior trim (just pulls off) there is also a small scew to undo where the hand hold thingy is (sorry, dont know whats its called but youll know what i mean when you see it Wink )

remove the 4 torx screws and the 3 bolts from inside the tailgate and the light cluster etc should just pull off. remember to unplug the power cables.

the ladder can then be fitted on and light cluster refitted in revearse order

should take about 20mins

don't forget to take the two lugs out of the back of the light unit too - they used to go in the holes you've just secured the ladder to

Its what puts me off getting one, especially with the glass roof. Just gives the ferral kids an excuse to climb up n play when the D3 is unattended
