Fitting RAI and ladder
Is there any tips/tricks for fitting the RAI and ladder, or is it straight forward

The ladder fits on the back and the RAI on the side Don't get the two confused OK 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Glynne, it's not be done for a while but it's been known for RAI and such like to get fitted at the SE Pub meet - might be worth a trip LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

top men KEN, DG, SLIMER, XTC and the gang. it was my 1st meet and took alot of micky taking from the forum before the planned fitting.
Was all done in the dark by the guys and really made me get onto the modifications

Hi Glynne,
I fitted a RAI the other day on my D3....fitment is straightforward but tricky if you don't have the correct riv-nut tool or you haven't done without one before.
I used some spare nuts + bolts and a few spanners to compress them and it worked ok, but is slightly unnerving.
Don't forget that you need a 9.5mm drill bit for the riv-nuts - not a 7mm bit as per the LR instructions. You'll also need a 16mm drill bit for the A-trim pillar or just use the 9.5mm one and waggle it around a lot.
