We’re fairly new to towing. Have a witter fixed towball towing a 2010 sprite major (if that makes any difference).
We currently load all 4 bikes on the roof but loading them is a drag so looking at fitting a flange mounted bike rack.
Does anyone have experience of this while towing? Would it affect the turning circle too much?

I used a witter flange mounted bike rack on both my D3 and D4, and towed with 4 bikes mounted. Two things to consider, 1) the bikes add roughly 15kgs each to the noseweight so make sure you don’t exceed the noseweight limit, and 2) yes it can affect the turning circle when manoeuvring. I typically took the bikes off before placing the ‘van in a pitch.
