Folding mirrors - lubricate or not?

My mirrors are folding in and out without issue but they are a little noisy (me being picky), certainly more noticeable than our Volvo V90CC.

Should I be lubricating / spraying with WD40 routinely? Any hints or suggestions?

I just want to keep them doing their thing!

I use 3-in-One Silicone lubricant spray for folding mirrors on our Volvo. Sadly, my D3 doesn't have them. Big Cry

I've always feared that WD40 attracts dust and becomes a grinding-paste on things that are meant to frequently move.

I use silicone spray, it seems to dry to an invisible coating, and works a treat.

How do you get the lubricant into the motors?

It's not the motors that need lubricating generally. It's the plastic mirror housing and the pivot. Fold the mirrors right back and squirt your preferred product into the gap between the mirror housing and the base.
