Folding Mirrors Sticking

Hey! Ive been washing my car a-lot lately... and recently noticing that the folding mirrors are starting to get a bit sticky, making a squealing noise when folding/unfolding.

Has anyone noticed this? Any tips to stop it and return to nice quiet smooth operation? I was thinking about going the WD-40 route and giving them a squirt.

WD-40 will provide a short term fix but you're better off using a silicone based lubricant.

Manually pull the mirror as far forward as it will go and then apply a liberal dose of lubricant to the exposed mechanism and then manually return to mirror to the correct position. Should then move normally again.

mine had this...dealer fix..manually force it through its range of operation.
no more judder or squeaks.
It is better to have and not need it then need and not have it.
