Former LR3 owner here - thinking about returning :D

Evening all,

New forum member here;

Currently running a 2nd gen CR-V, but giving serious thought to getting another Disco 3, for obvious reasons.. Attached, a snap or two of the old flame. edit: it won't let me post the photo :/

(Nostalgia, the lines, the comfort, and the boot size)

My previous one was a LR3 V8 HSE that I ran ten years ago.

Appreciating that these vehicles are starting to get on a bit, - and as a non-mechanic - are there any must-read threads or resources prospective owners should be reading before they dive in?

Cheers []P

Finally, worked out how to add photos. Here's my old LR3:

I am not a mechanic but it does help to have willingness to wield a spanner !

The cars are getting on and garage bills will make you wince on some simple stuff.

I am currently running a D4 and even with willingness to take on maintenance some aspects of repair are very hard at home to the point where i am now actually considering fitting a two post lift at home to actually save on garage repair bills!

I do know that when this car actually dies i will never buy Land Rover again…nor any car where what should be routine maintenance is bizarely difficult due to the nature of the build.

Go for a good V8 petrol if you can find one that has a very long maintenance record. Stay away from the diesel's unless you really want one, and then I'd suggest you go for a Range Rover V8 Diesel. Thumbs Up

@PROFSR G3

Thank you for your replies: I have taken the plunge and bought a low mileage 2009 TDV 👍🏽
