A Frame - PDC and badges?
Guys
Just secured a A frame on E=bay! Hope it's "complete" like they claim!
How does the bar fit if you have PDC? Do you somehow extend the PDC units???
Also - can you buy separate A Frame "L A N D R O V E R" badges like MacLeod has on his - or is it simply the bonnet badges re-hashed to fit the A Frame?

the two PDC's have enough cable to extend onto the A frame
I got seperate lettering from ebay for mine but you can remove them from the bonnet and re-glue them onto the A frame if desired

The front PDC's that need to be put into the A bar have coiled cable behind the bumper to allow them to extend. Tis an easy job, done it myself without hassel.
The badge issue is easy, although not cheap.

Thanks Jason.
How much are the badges if you dont mind me asking?
Also did you fit the "A" bar yourself?....was it simple???
Trying to decide whether I should do it myself or pay the 1.5hrs labour the dealer will want?

I decided to buy my badges from Nick at Yeovil cos the ebay ones aint always LR ones, and the chrome bling ones are a no no. I did that pic for another member a while ago who had no badge on the bonnet and needed measurements
The badge comes seperate names, Land and Rover, I think it was about £35
The bumper is easy enough if you leave yourself enough time, I did'nt remove the wheel arch spats/extensions as some do, I just popped the bottom clips.
Do a search as its well documented, I would go into detail but a lot of us have done it and all of us find little time cutting measures and all have documented them. I found the advice I was given was great and helped a lot, but still found some easier ways myself.

Hi Jason,
Did the new Land Rover letters come with self-adhesive backing, or if not, what did you use to stick them to the A-bar?
Think I'll be doing the same thing as it looks great, but don't want them to fall off!

They come with the proper self adhesive foam backing. I aint had a problem with them and at a guess would be a poxy job to remove them if I wanted to
8) : Make sure you clean out the recess's for the letters with warm soapy water and dry with a clean lint free cloth, when totally dry use a clean lint free cloth to apply IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) which is a common electrical cleaning solvent, use one piece of cloth per letter once only, this prevents cross- contamination of grease, dirt residues etc. When dry (it takes only a few seconds) insert the letter, you may have to wiggle it in to the cut-outs and or ease it in with the back of a craft knife or scaple, once in, use the palm of your hand to keep an even pressure on the letter for approx 30 seconds. Do not touch the adhesive with your fingers and do not apply in damp atmosphere eg. raining or foggy outside and at an air temperature of at least 17c
Mine has been on for 12 months and can withstand an accidental pressure wash blast and kids trying to pry them off. This advise was given to me by a mate who works for an industrial adhesives company and like any- thing the end result is all down to the preparation

none of this I did of course
no wonder they fell off
So you can only apply on one random warm day in August, and then only if you can get certification to show you have a surgically clean garage . . . . . "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."
