Seeing as hauliers are exempt....what's the minimum required to be considered a haulier? Wink

* looks like our ski boots are going to remain in the Morzine chalet for a while longer.

Annoyingly, my trip got cancelled a few days ago due to a positive covid test. Do t feel quite so annoyed about it now as we wouldn’t have been going either way. Tackling the joys of travel insurance now, no doubt they are just working out which caveat to apply to save a pay out!

We would ideally like to rebook for Feb half term, but if I’m honest with myself, I don’t see anything improving by then… Censored

We’ve got a car based France trip planned in late April, wouldn’t like to bet my favourite shirt on that happening smoothly. Sad Sad

Saying that, just knocking up a 2 months Trans European Interrail trip just in case we all wake up and this has been a bad dream. Whistle Whistle

We have flex tunnel tickets, flex hotels, can top up our lift passes online, have our own skis... The only think we're in for is our chalet. Unless it looks totally stupid to do it, I'm thinking of taking it right to the line in terms of gambling on it. Half of me wonders whether the whole Omnicron thing will blow over quickly in the UK, but then we might be at risk of the French going through the same. I think it will be much clearer at the end of Jan... We are due to go last week in Feb.

We managed to ski in 20, but missed this year. Would be totally, totally gutted to miss again. Big Cry Big Cry Censored

Current situation with Covid-based hospitalisations is c. 14,500 in France and 7,500 in UK.
I wouldn't be surprised if, with the UK doing much more testing, France isn't in pretty much as 'bad' a situation with Omicron as the UK notwithstanding [France] being in a much worse position with Delta.

Hopefully they'll relent soon and we'll be able to actually get our feet into our ski boots (and onto some skis) at some point this season.

I organised our work’s ski trip to Morzine for 10 years. 4 of us in year 1 and maxed at 42.

Disgracefully good times.

I've got until the 13th Jan to cancel my chalet in meribel, hoping it won't come to it!

Not like we can get anywhere else without flying either if we're not allowed to transit France.

I imagine the ferries to other destinati Confused ons are now booked up, especially for half term week.

It's a very disappointed household now that the family skiing trip for xmas has been cancelled. However, the outlaw (SWMBO's mother) is delighted as she intends to 'pop over' (stay for xmas dinner more like).

I need suggestions and I need them fast on how to avoid this nightmare. The pesky carol singers are easy to avoid by turning off all the lights and locking the doors when we hear them coming up the road. But the outlaw is sneaky (she even had her own key cut when we made the mistake one time of asking her to feed the cats while we were away).

Help.

Of course, a LFT is ideal for us on Christmas morning. We don't even need to fake it as one of my daughters always get a false positive (backed up by a negative PCR) every time. Not sure she'll be happy about sticking 6 swabs up her nose though, but there might be enough fluid in 1 pipet to cover all 6 tests.

Thanks guys.
