Front air suspension Dunlop or OEM

Hi,

I've decided that as I have the AA parts and labour cover I am going to let someone else find my leak.
So, if it comes back as one of tge front bags, firstly am I best going for the Dunlop or a cheaper equivalent?
Also is it best to get sides done at the same time?
Any idea how much it should be, roughly, to get both front struts swapped? The cover goes up to £535 but I have to pay the first £35 of any claim, so I wondered if I would have to pay any more.

Cheers

Take a look at JGS 4x4 for cost of airstruts..they have deals for Dunlops on occasion.
Compare the cost to your cover.
It is not a particularly difficult job for a reasonably handy person, so will not take too long if all goes smoothly.
You'll then have an idea if it's worth having Dunlop struts or anther brand.
Four struts may well be worth buying in a deal, and then fitting at your leisure once you've reached your AA inclusive cost frame?

I replaced my originals at 170,000 miles and then fitted Dunlop struts. They were very good and were still going strong 65,000 later. Thumbs Up

I thought the AA cover only applied if you'd been towed to the garage for repair?

Thanks for the replies.

With the AA you have to call them out to look at it, which he did and said there was nothing he'd be able to do. So all good for the claim!

I have Dunlops all round on my RRS and I'm very happy with them.

I believe the best place to buy for the D3 is here:

£209.99 + VAT for the pair.

My plan, fingers very crossed, is to keep the car long term as I love it.

Money is always tight, but especially at the moment. If there's not much difference in performance which seems to be the consensus, I'd rather go for Dunlop if it means I don't have to put much towards the costs.

I'm sure its tge same for everyone, there's so much I need to do, even more that I want to do and a lot ill never be allowed to do, so its a trade off. If I get a pair of new struts more or less free, then that's potentially money I can use elsewhere. I really wanted to get the front tow bar that Sea Raider has arranged, but i just can't at tge moment so ill end up paying full price when I can!

Just put the Dunlop front structs on mine. Fairly straight forward job. I went with the pushfit connectors recommended by Gary

+1 for Gary he's a star!!

I'll be getting someone else to do it as it is covered by the AA, otherwise I'd do it myself as it looks like a fairly straightforward job, also I'd go for the Dunlop struts usually but just thought I'd ask.

How long have you had yours on?

Hiya

Hope u found them easier to use, may i ask , what did u think of the pushfits plse

Must admit I’ve replaced nearly all the Voss connectors with the pushfits , have fitted new compressor , air tank, 3 x valve blocks , front pair of struts , but alas the entire suspension had been neglected , had more leaks than a colander , Laughing
