Front anti roll bar bushes sizes |
|
Hi
My car is booked in tomorrow for front Arb bushes and I have just received the bushes and it states on packet 34mm , have searched online and on here and see that there are 2 sizes for the front 28mm and 34mm, I have seen the bar last time it was on the ramp at garage and I’m sure it isn’t 34mm diameter
Can anyone shed any light ...were there 2 different front bar diameters ?
If I’ve ordered the wrong ones can I cut a couple of strips of eurethane material 2mm thick by the width of the bush and bring it down to the correct diameter , wondering if anyone has had a similar situation
Kind Regards
Ian

Thanks for the response , yep I’ve returned the bushes and bought 28mm replacements
Should have measured the bar , wasn’t a wasted day as had egr kit and front pipe installed
And discovered why I still have rubbish handling after having the front lower control arm rear bushes replaced , lots of oil from control arms so...... I’ve come to the conclusion these are oil filled and that they have been nipped or something when they have fitted to arms
Kind Regards

I will look at the super pro kit , I had been looking at the flo flex kit , but see the super pro kit states that they are engineered to give same feel as hydraulic bush , hopefully I will get these ones in without damaging 😂
Cheers for the heads up on these 👍

Im not saying floflex are rubbish, but the the set I fitted to my 90 wore out fast very fast and were a right bar steward to remove for some reason.
Back to std rubber bushes and its been good for years.

Yeah it’s Just what came up when I was searching and the pictures were a bit prettier on the flo flex 😂
I’ve used the whiteline brand before when I replaced control arms and subframe bushes on my old 335d (RIP) think they were Australian , but think I will steer clear of the flo flex now and go with Disco Mikeys recommendation of the super pro , my fillings are all rattled out now anyways , cheers for the input
