Front Brake Disc Life

I changed my front brake pads on Friday (just had 45k mile service), and I noticed that the front discs will need doing next time as well. It got me thinking as to what sort of mileage everyone is getting on front discs Question

Thought I would start a poll to find out Thumbs Up

auto's will go through discs (& pads~) more frequently than a manual, as will driving conditions (town vs motorway).

60k out of my first set on front, 65k miles on rears.

As i understand it (and probably about to be corrected Embarassed ) all discs lip to some degree, what really matters is the overall thickness of the disc. ISTR LR give guidance on minimum safe thickness. Might be worth questioning the dealer along those lines Thumbs Up

Still on original front & rear discs, 67k miles done so far. Three sets of pads used on a manual with 80/20% on road /offroad.
Last check was 28.5mm / 28.2mm front, 18.8mm / 18.6mm rear

got to 32K on last D3 without needing them doing - pads were changed at about 25K and the dealer commented that the discs would need doing in the not to different future
