Front Diffs, 3 & 4 the same units?

So I'm fitting a bluetooth microphone to the drivetrain components next week to locate a bearing noise, my suspicion is one of the bearings in the front diff is shot. I'm looking at swapping it out for a D4 front diff, but will it fit?
Thanks!

I believe D3 & D4 are the same, but be aware manual diffs are a different ratio to cars with auto box Thumbs Up

D3/4 auto 2.7 diffs are all 3.54, V8 and petrol V6 are 3.73, D4 6spd is 3.54 and 8spd is 3.21.
