Front Number Plate Holder |
|
Does anyone know if there is another type of front number plate holder for the Discovery 4.
I am fitting a short (length wise) number plate to the front and when I have removed the standard one the holder is fixed with 4 x Screws and is ribbed along the length which will look a bot daft with the short number.
I have looked at just removing the holder and mounting the number directly on the bumper but sods law there are four holes in it from the number plate holder.
I wondered if there might be another company producing an alternative holder which although made for a full length number plate might suit a shorter one.
Any ideas would be more than welcome.

There will prob be a shorter type square effect for the US market ? Maybe
But I thought number Plates had to be a certain width hight & length to be legal ?
That may or may not be true though so don't quote me but it's certainly worth looking into. Only dead fish go with the Flow !

It's not the length of plate that counts, it's the numbers and spacings that matter.
I have never seen a shorter length holder though, and I doubt there will be different lengths to acommodate every configuration of number plate ?
The only different one's I've seen are Jap imports and one's for US vehicles, and both are 2 lined plate holders, ie square.
You might want to have a look on the good old '*bay' for suggestions ......

The plate is made with the correct spacings, the height is the same as a standard plate only the width is less.
The plate is 330 x 111mm
A plate holder with a smooth solid back might do the job I guess. Brand Loyalty Is An Expensive Business

Could you not just 'cut n shut' it ?
Most of the join would be covered by the number plate and providing you're neat with the cut [and due to the low down location] it shouldn't be that visible.
Just a thought ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Cutting it would work, but then I would be left with 4 holes in the actual bumper....!
Wondering if a plate holder from another vehicle with a solid back might work....still looking on *bay ! Brand Loyalty Is An Expensive Business

Would it not be a whole lot easier just to get a standard length number plate, save a lot of hassle
