Fuel Burning Heater operating constantly

Hi all,

2009 Disco 3 2.7tdv6 hse auto

FBH will not switch off,
air temp says 26deg,
coolant temp within normal range on the dash,
plenty of fuel in the tank.

can this be unplugged to prevent it running constantly, or is there a simple inexpensive modification to make it operate manually.

i await your inspired responses.

many thanks

Dave
